kids in the kitchen
Yesterday I pulled a canned good out of the pantry and asked the boys what they thought was inside based on the label. "Tomatoes!" Caleb said, identifying the picture. "Let’s see," I replied, pulling the can opener out the drawer. A few flicks of the wrist later, I reveal the contents: tomato paste. "What is it?" Toby asked. Caleb’s reply? "It’s tomato playdough!" Then today, as we were making cookies, Toby cracked me up. Here is the exchange, with neccesary translations: Ellie, standing next to Toby on a chair, trying to reach the mixer beater for a taste of dough: "NO Toby! I can’t see better!" (translation: Move over! I can’t reach.) Toby: "No, Ellie, it’s too messy for babies." (translation: I don’t want to share this dough with you.)

I absolutely love your kids!
And by the way, your captcha (the little box of letters I had to type in) was completely inappropriate. I had to swear to leave this comment!
